Jaeger O’Meara says the Gold Coast SUNS are already focused on bouncing back against Greater Western Sydney after the team lapsed to their worst in their performance against St. Kilda yesterday afternoon.

“We didn’t have our best game for the season and have a bit of work to do to fix up,” he said.

“It was disappointing but we’ll move on from that game and hopefully notch up a win against the GWS.”

The Gold Coast’s teenage prodigy was at his usual best against the Saints at Etihad Stadium, finishing with a handy 19 disposals, five tackles and two goals – tightening his already clutched grip on the NAB’s AFL Rising Star Award.

On paper, the Saints outworked the SUNS in every major statistical count.

A tough loss to swallow, O’Meara said the playing group would turn in a much better performance against the Giants this weekend.

“We didn’t play four quarters of football and that is why we didn’t win the game,” he said.

“We’ve had three seasons now, going into our fourth next year and we can’t afford to have those fade outs.”

“Hopefully we can play four quarters this weekend and carry that into next year.”

O’Meara said the team was hungry to record another win in front of the Club’s passionate home supporters.

“I think we’ve done okay this year but we still have a lot of improvement to go,” O’Meara said.

“We have one more opportunity so hopefully we can finish the season off strong.”
