Leaving nothing to chance in his maiden season, Andrew Boston worked tirelessly through the club's NEAFL development program to get his opportunity at the big time.

In his eight AFL appearances, the local Broadbeach product impressed coaching staff with his elite kicking accuracy in front of goals, and as such has been rewarded with the No. 13 Guernsey.

Originally worn by delisted Gold Coast player Jacob Gillbee, Boston is well deserved of the lower number upgrade.

Speaking exclusively with goldcoastfc.com.au, the home-grown sharp shooter says he is hungrier than ever to continue pressing for senior opportunities in 2014.

"Fortunately I was able to out my best out forward this season, and really give senior football a crack when the opportunity presented itself," he said.

"While I know there is plenty of hard work still ahead of me, I am certainly up for the challenge."
