The 19-year old midfielder debuted in Round One and has averaged 19 possessions.
In the Suns’ victory over the Giants last Saturday he had 25 touches including an equal game high 14 contested possession, 11 clearances - five more than any other player on the field, laid four tackles, kicked two goals.
Gold Coast Suns coach Guy McKenna said Jaeger has benefited from a years condition and development after being recruited as a 17-year-old.
“He's had 18 months to put his learnings into practice and its been pleasing that we have been able to see the benefit of that at the elite level and that's a credit to his professionalism."
McKenna believes O’Meara is set to continue to improve in 2013 and beyond.
"His attitude and intensity together with his ability to crack in and win the contested footy and work both ways is fantastic and he will continue to improve the more he plays at this level.”
Jaeger came to the Suns in 2011 via the Greater Western Sydney 17-year-old mini-draft, where he was selection number one. In 2012 he played for the Sun’s reserves side in the NEAFL. He was originally recruited from Dongara, which is south of Geraldton in Western Australia.
An outstanding junior player, Jaeger was an Under-18 All-Australian when just 15 years of age and was a member of the AIS-AFL Academy squad.
