Gary Ablett has leapfrogged to the top of the 2013 Gold Coast SUNS Club Championship tally this week, after a superb performance in the wet against North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium.

There was little Ablett could do wrong against the Kangaroos on Saturday night, finishing with a game-high 33 disposals, seven clearances, six tackles and two goals to secure the best-on-ground honours.

Trent McKenzie proved to be a thorn around the Kangaroo’s inside-50s, neutralising a series of contests that would likely have resulted in certain goals for the SUNS opposition.

Finishing with 25-disposals  and a game-high 6 rebounding 50s, McKenzie earns four Club Champion points for his stand-out performance.

Danny Stanley features in the Club Champion countdown for the first time this season, with 10 of his 17 disposals coming off the back of contested possessions… Stanley receiving three Club Champion points for his great work through the centre circle.  

Tom Lynch continues to provide his midfielders with a strong target around goals, taking a game-high 4 marks inside-50 before finishing among the side’s leading goal-kickers…. The Gold Coast’s no. 1 forward earning two Club Champion points for his great performance.
