The Gold Coast SUNS have significantly bolstered their side ahead of Saturday’s match against the West Coast Eagles in Perth, with stars Dion Prestia, David Swallow and Rory Thompson all returning from injury.

Prestia, Swallow and Thompson all completed Wednesday’s main training session making the match committees decision to include the players an easy one according to  GC SUNS General Manager of Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft

“Dion, David and Rory all got through yesterday’s training session, and as expected return immediately to the senior team.

“The three guys were all pretty close to playing last week, and we are confident they will each play vital roles for us on Saturday,” he said.

Also joining the trio amongst the inclusions is Daniel Gorringe. Gorringe will replace the in-form Tom Nicholls who failed to complete training on Wednesday after injuring his knee in last weekend's match against Carlton.

“Unfortunately Tom was unable to overcome his knee injury in time for game, however this provides a great opportunity for Daniel Gorringe who has continued to improve his game in the NEAFL just as Tom had done prior to getting his chance in the seniors,” Ashcroft said.

Jared Brennan, Jacob Gillbee and Maverick Weller have been omitted, while Nathan Bock continues to edge closer to a return, this week being named as an emergency alongside Jackson Allen and Joel Wilkinson.
