The Gold Coast SUNS have today confirmed that Karmichael Hunt will play for the GC SUNS reserves team in the NEAFL against Morningside at Broadbeach on Saturday.

GC SUNS General Manager of Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft told SUNS TV that the match committee had planned for Hunt to develop the attacking side of his game at NEAFL level and believed that now is the best time for Hunt to learn the craft at the lower level.

“The match committees have had a number of discussions about moving Karmicheal back to NEAFL level to give him the opportunity to play a more attacking role.

“Karmichael is still developing as a footballer, and we believe this move will help fast track his development, making Karmichael a more rounded player allowing him to play a variety of roles at senior level.

Ashcroft said that the club was more than impressed with Hunt’s progress and believed that GC SUNS fans would see Hunt back in the senior team in the next few weeks.
