The Gold Coast SUNS have declared they intend to talk to Kurt Tippett in a bid that would see the former Adelaide star play for the SUNS next season.
GC SUNS General Manager Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft signalled the clubs intentions.
Kurt and his management are well aware that we would be very interested in Kurt joining the SUNS.
"We plan to further discussions with Kurt Tippett's management in the coming days in the hope that the SUNS can provide an opportunity that Kurt wishes to pursue."
Raised on the Gold Coast, Tippett, 25, played 104 AFL games for Adelaide and kicked 188 goals.
Drafted with pick 32 at the 2006 national draft, he made his AFL debut in the opening round of the 2008 season.
Ashcroft also confirmed that the SUNS would act in a considered manner, when it came to the offer put to Tippett.
As we have said all along, we are committed to continuing to strengthen our team, and Kurt certainly would do that, however we wont be making an offer that will be at the detriment of our ability to retain the elite young talent we currently have on our list in the future.
