The Gold Coast SUNS have made two changes ahead of Saturday night’s match against North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium.

The GC SUNS have recalled forward Luke Russell, while Rex Liddy will become the SUNS 26th debutant.

Liddy was raised at the Hopevale Aboriginal community north west of Cairns and is set to become the first FNQ indigenous player to rise to AFL ranks from an indigenous community.

A strongly built and naturally athletic running player with an accurate right boot, Liddy joined the GC SUNS training squad after impressing AFLQ talent scouts as a junior level footballer.

Taylor Hine has been omitted, while Harley Bennell has been made unavailable for selection after missing a compulsory session earlier in the week.
