The Gold Coast SUNS are set to find a new home for Josh Caddy and in doing so are gaining a prized first round compensation selection and draft selections.

The deal agreed upon with the Geelong Football Club, which will be officially lodged with the AFL later in the exchange period, also includes the exchange of a number of other later draft picks that are being finalised.

GC SUNS General Manager - Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft confirmed to goldcoastfc.com.au that the two clubs had agreed on the exchange.

We are really pleased we will secure a first round compensation pick, tied to Geelong's finishing position to be used in either the 2013 or 2014 drafts as well as draft selections to be finalised in exchange for relocating Josh Caddy back to Victoria.

Ashcroft told goldcoastfc.com.au that compensation draft selections were vital to enable the club to continue to spread the age of the playing group.

Continuing to spread the age of our playing group with elite talent ensure we will have a very balanced playing group in the years to come which is important as we strive for sustained success.

The Gold Coast SUNS now boast three first round compensation picks to be used in drafts up until the end of 2015.
